What is Emma? Print
The European Media Management Education Association is an international not-for-profit organisation that was founded in 2003 in response to the dramatic growth in media management courses and programmes at higher education institutions throughout Europe.

Its goals are fourfold:


  • To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas between those teaching media management in higher education and industry training programmes in Europe;
  • To stimulate academic and intellectual interest in media management aducation and research;
  • To facilitate the developement of high quality teaching materials explicity tailored to the field of media management;
  • To build links between those teaching and researching in the field of the media arena and the media industry itself.

Who are its members?


EMMA has two types of members. Individual members are individuals active in media management education and research. Institutional members are drawn from university departments, institutes or programmes, media companies, and organisations that provide media management education an whose activities are located in Europe. Institutional membership entitles the institution to enlist u to ten participants in EMMA, and an allocation of three votes at the AGM (individual members have one vote).
